About Me

Hi! I’m Dr. Yanique Rolingson, an educator with over 18 years of experience in the classroom and beyond. I hold both a master’s and a doctorate in leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. My leadership is rooted in a strong commitment to transforming school culture, promoting equity, and fostering meaningful relationships with both teachers and students.

This passion motivated me to co-launch the Check and Connect mentoring program with my colleague and friend, Dr. Kristi Love, an educator committed to empowering students and teachers through culturally responsive strategies and transformative leadership. Together, we launched the program to support students at risk of falling through the cracks, making sure they felt seen, valued, and guided toward success. My doctoral research examined the relationship between student suspension and academic achievement, driven by the conviction that students belong in classrooms, not outside them.

Today, I support both teachers and students in engaging with the S.N.A.P. Framework™ (Stop. Notice. Act. Plan.) — a practical, faith-filled tool that resets classroom behavior, builds strong relationships, and creates environments where every learner can succeed. For teachers, it acts as a reflective leadership guide. For students, it provides a simple and empowering way to pause, refocus, and plan for growth.

This space was created to help students reach their full potential by offering them encouragement, structure, and hope to succeed. It also supports the educators who guide them, especially those who may feel exhausted, overlooked, or uncertain about the value of their work.

For nearly twenty years, I have stood beside educators and students through both their most rewarding and challenging moments. What I’ve learned is this: safe, restorative spaces are vital places where teachers feel refreshed and prepared, and where students feel supported, capable, and motivated to succeed.

Through stories, Scripture, and honest reflection, I hope this space reminds you: students can achieve, teachers can endure, and none of us are ever alone in the journey.
